Application Deadlines Late Filings To ensure you meet your state or school deadlines, it is always recommended that you file your FAFSA form as soon as possible after January 1st. We prefer that you submit your information to us at least a week prior to your state or school deadlines. This gives us time to resolve any unexpected issues prior to filing your FAFSA. However, even if you’ve waited until the very last minute, we can probably still help you! Our Student Advisors prioritize the submissions of forms according to their deadline dates. So if your deadline is approaching, that means that your submission jumps to the front of the line. Additionally, all clients automatically receive our “Same Day Guarantee” absolutely free. That is our promise that every client of FAFSA USA will have their application electronically submitted the same day that we receive your complete information. Please note: the Same Day Filing Guarantee is subject to the following restrictions: (i) We require your completed application information to us by 11:00 p.m. Central Time to give us one hour to process before the deadline time, and (ii) we only guarantee that your application is submitted to the Central Processing System (a small percentage of schools require the application to be processed and sent to the school’s financial aid office by the deadline). It is also important to check with your college or university to see if they have any specific deadlines for their financial aid submissions prior to the state deadlines. The Department of Education subcontracts the majority of the FAFSA processing to the Central Processing System which is located in the Central Time Zone. Accordingly, the deadline for submitting to them is 12:00 a.m. Central Time. Even if you have missed the deadline entirely, you are still strongly advised to submit the FAFSA form as you may still be eligible for certain types of financial aid including Federal Stafford and Parent (PLUS) loans which are offered on a very favorable terms, and in some cases Federal Pell Grants and other aid. |
